E.D. Pons and Associates provided the structural engineering services for an addition to the existing Sutliff Hall at Bloomsburg University.
Start A Project With UsThe addition includes new classrooms and office space and adding a new floor to the existing structure as well as a new entry.
The new construction is a steel-framed and load bearing masonry building that is connected to existing building. The addition of a third floor required reinforcing the existing masonry load bearing wall structure to meet the requirements of the current building code. The existing roof structure is to be removed and replaced with a new floor system of steel beams and concrete floor deck. Lateral force resistance is provided by steel braced frames and masonry shear walls.
